#2 - What license will the driver have?
Smaller trucks do not require any commercial license. Large straight trucks require a Class B CDL. Tractor trailers require a Class A CDL.
#3 - How many bays do you need?
Under CDL trucks are usually found in the 4-8 bay range with the occasional 10 bay being under CDL. The majority of 10 bays and most 12 bay trucks are CDL trucks. Beverage trailers can range from 10 bays up to 24 bays and are pulled with a single axle tractor in most circumstances. Bulk delivery trailers can range from 28’ in length up to 53’, with widths of 96” and 102”.
#4 - Do you need an automatic or manual transmission?
Automatic transmissions are becoming more and more popular due to their driver friendly nature, however many drivers still prefer a manual transmission.
